The Role
Fitness Cartel Australia is actively seeking a General Manager based in our newly-opened head office in Virginia, QLD.
This position, reporting to the owner directors, plays a strategic role in overseeing club operations and performance of Fitness Cartel Health Clubs, Nutrition Cartel, and Apparel (the Company).
As the General Manager, you will have a broad mandate to drive the company's strategic direction, operational efficiency, growth, and profitability. Your leadership will extend across various facets of the business, including operations, sales, human resources, and overseeing regional managers to ensure alignment and coherence in our business strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategising and improving the company-wide operations, enhancing the overall business model for sustained growth and profitability
- Leading the sales, human resources, and regional management teams, fostering a culture of strategic thinking and operational excellence
- Overseeing a group of big-box gyms, ensuring membership satisfaction, retention rates, and engagement remain high
- Conducting regular visits, including interstate travel, to ensure standards are consistently met and exceeded
- Driving EBITDA performance across all business segments, positioning Fitness Cartel Health Clubs, Nutrition Cartel, and Apparel for long-term success
- Keeping abreast of market trends, identifying expansion opportunities, and staying ahead of industry developments
- Implementing process improvements, leveraging automation, and utilising data analytics to enhance business operations
- Resolving critical customer issues, maintaining a commitment to outstanding service
- Nurturing and developing a high-performance team, aligned with the company’s core values and strategic objectives

What You’ll Need to Succeed
To excel as the General Manager, you'll need extensive experience in a similar GM role, ideally within sectors like health and fitness, retail, hospitality, and/or multisite operations. This role requires:
- Exceptional leadership and communication skills for effective collaboration across the organization
- Proven ability to lead through significant changes, such as organizational growth and expansion
- Solid track record in driving performance, achieving sales goals, and effectively managing teams and senior leadership
- Comprehensive decision-making capabilities, with a knack for strategic improvements and financial insight
- Advanced analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills, with a focus on policy and system implementation
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, with strong computer and time management skills
- Must have Australian Citizenship or full Australian working rights
